BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE - Sarah and Alex’s winter wedding
Stapleford Park Country House Hotel is a hidden gem. Sitting amongst acres of countryside between Melton Mowbray and Rutland Water, this huge country house really is something special. Both Sarah and Alex stayed the night before their wedding, in different cottages, each with their own entourage of friends and family. I met up with the girls mid morning whilst the boys played a little golf. Very risky considering the terrible weather! They probably used the indoor golf centre! I know I would.
The ceremony was at 2pm which gave Sarah and the girls plenty of time to enjoy a couple of glasses of prosecco and a bit of hair and makeup before putting on her amazing dress, from The Bridal Suite. I jogged down to see Alex and the groomsmen whilst the girls made the final touches, by which time the weather had developed into nothing short of full English winter. Drizzly rain and cold blustery winds meant we had to make a rather quick dash to the orangery, where Alex’s father was conducting the blessing ceremony.
Unfortunately, due to the relentless rain we couldn’t explore the amazing grounds of the house for some photos so we made the most of the festivities indoors, which included an epic 30ft Christmas tree in the lobby and an incredible staircase in the main hall.
By the time the evening party began Sarah and Alex could barely make it to the end of their first dance before everyone piled on the dance floor. The best man even played the drums with the band which was amazing. An incredible end to an awesome day.
