EMMA & JAMIE TIE THE KNOT AT HAMPTON MANOR
THE VENUE
Hampton Manor nr Birmingham - this place is amazing, a countryside retreat both contemporary and historic that's only 20 minutes from the centre of Birmingham. It's Good Friday and in true English style, rain is threatening us constantly throughout the day but it didn't dampen any spirits. Hampton Manor is really impressive, not only from the outside but on the inside it boasts a Michelin star and 4 AA Rosettes. Rooms are stylishly decorated with a bit of quirk and as you walk through the venue you get a great sense of decadence, you feel like you're somewhere special. There's no wondering why Emma & Jamie chose here to get married...
THE MORNING
After breakfast Emma and her girls made a very relaxed morning of hair, make up and bubbles. I say relaxed, I caught Emma's eyes a few times, I could tell the nerves were setting in...we had to joke about it - there were waves of emotion as the morning passed, nerves, excitement, a few tears all mixed up with a bit of girlish banter, we had some fun. The ceremony wasn't until 2pm so there was lots of time to chill before putting on the dresses.
THE CEREMONY
Hampton Manor held the ceremony in The Birches, a beautifully stylish building with nice lighting and contemporary wallpaper, take a look at what I mean below... I met Jamie and the lads pre ceremony in the bar, Jamie making last minute tweaks to his speech and the lads enjoying a sip from the hip flask as they waited for the Bridal party to arrive. Shelby their French bulldog even made an appearance in his suit. Emma entered the ceremony to a string quartet and amazingly held it together throughout the ceremony without any tears, which is more than can be said for her bridesmaids! A highly emotional ceremony with a reading from Emma's best friend Amy and after a first kiss to top all first kisses it wasn't long before we were throwing confetti and running under cover from the massive downpour which came out of nowhere!
THE RECEPTION, SPEECHES & PARTY
With the rain being so persistent we decided to get a few B & G shots indoors and hope that it stopped, which it did, for about 15 minutes, which was more than enough time to get everyone outside for a group shot, but you'll see the bridesmaids running back indoors when it started again! Speeches are often my favourite part, I regularly find myself laughing out loud at the stories which arise. I love it when the groom gets a little grilling from his best man and when the father of the bride works the emotions - they didn't disappoint! Emma's Bridesmaid Sarah made the wedding cake, check it out - incredible!
After Hampton Manor turned around the dining room for the evening party we enjoyed a very traditional cake cutting and first dance before everyone piled on the dance floor for a few hours of carnage. What. A. Day. Nicely done!!!
Here's a bunch of my favourites from the day...
