CLAIRE & RYAN AT SWANCAR
Swancar Farm Country House is an absolute gem of a venue, just outside the city centre, past Wollaton Hall sits this beautiful country house surrounded by acres of fields and countryside. Perched on the top of a hill it offers amazing views in almost every direction. There’s no wonder why Claire and Ryan chose here to get married - after all they came down from Leeds to get married here, and so did most of their guests!
It was the end of September and the weather on the morning was absolutely perfect, 22 degrees and blue sky. Claire and her girls spent their morning in Swancar’s bridal suite whilst Ryan and the lads got dressed downstairs and enjoyed a drink as the guests arrived before the ceremony. Claire & Ryan had their own personal vows, which is always the best way to do it, it’s so much more meaningful and a really nice touch. After the ceremony we spent a couple of hours relaxing in the sun, throwing a tonne of confetti and making a few portraits.
I love a well written, properly delivered speech, and all three were brilliant. Ryan even got a little bit of a grilling from his best man Mark which everyone enjoyed! Speeches were done before the meal, which is a great idea if you want to get them out the way. As the end of the meal approached I asked Claire and Ryan if they wanted ten minutes outside because the sun was just about to set. They were totally up for it and I’m so glad we did. We returned to cut the cake, an awesome semi-naked from Lisa at the Ruddington Cake Company (Check it out) then after the evening guests arrived it was time to kick off the evening party with the first dance, the sweet cart, the home made photo booth guest book, some sparklers, a couple of late night portraits and some pretty crazy dancing.
